Monica Lewinsky: The price of shame

I'm posting this to show support for the cause that Monica Lewinsky speaks of.  I too went through a period of online cyber harassment.  The degree to which it was waged upon me was in every way as bad as other cases that resulted in suicide.  Perhaps the biggest difference is that I experienced it for approximately 4 years, nonstop.  The harassment I experienced included publishing offensive articles in my name by the harassers.  My wife, my daughter, and I received death threats by email and online.  I'm talking about a small child and a female immigrant, powerless to fight back against these online harassers.  This made my wife increasingly paranoid.  Today she suffers from schizophrenia.  Personally, I believe this harassment may have contributed to this illness that has destroyed her life.

Once the harassment took hold, other individuals that knew me, such as my ex-wife, her husband, some former coworkers, and other mentally disturbed people joined in.  I know who many of them are.  I could list their full names here, but let me settle for their first names: Holly, Bridget, Elise, Josiah, Jack, Mike, Michael, Doug, Mary, Karen, Jan, Daniel, Jim, Cy, Bill, Gustavo, Laura, Cyndi, John, Hang, and Stephen.  This isn't the whole list, but this is a list of the most vile.  There is a sociological phenomenon that is as old as the human species.  We see it under dictatorial regimes where cowards anonymously turn in or falsely accuse those they dislike or those they are jealous of to the authorities.  We see it online in anonymous bullying where, once it gets started, mentally ill sociopaths gang up on a target simply because they can.  In Salem, it took the form of witch trials.  In the South, it took the form of lynchings.  It is all about killing a person, biologically, mentally, or virtually.  It is all about destroying a life and getting pleasure from it.

However, there is a price these animals have paid for their harassment.  Other people know what they did.  Whether they realize it or not, they have diminished their own lives by being known as someone that has worked to destroy others.  In the case of some, they lost a good friend.  Several of these individuals do not know it, but I did many things to help them and improve their lives, without seeking credit, before they put their masks on and began the harassment, all those years ago.  There is no going back.  One will be visiting my mother late in May.  I won't be there when she comes.  I choose not to be.  She lost a friend by joining the dark side.

Listen to when Monica Lewinsky has to say.  People that do these things are the lowest form of life.  If you know one, shun that person.  They are murderers.

American Man Charged With Genocide

FLORIDA – Local American, Jeb Bush, was arrested this morning for genocide. Mr. Bush is charged with the mass murder of 250 million individuals, all closely related. With wanton neglect, he murdered 250 million people, nearly the same number as the population of the United States, by drowning.

State prosecutor, John Smith, announced the arrest today before a crowded room of reporters in Jacksonville. “With complete disregard for what could be considered an entire nation of human infants, Mr. Bush ejaculated into his toilet after pleasuring himself. If we do not speak up for the unborn, who will? I've heard the screams of the spermatozoa, and I will not neglect my duties. Justice will be served.”

Given Florida's death penalty and the special circumstances of mass murder, Mr. Bush's punishment, if convicted, could be dire, but legal experts expect Mr. Bush to be exempted for reasons of oligarchic immunity.

Barbara Bush, mother of the wanker, could not be reached for comment.

The Inverse Relationship between Creative Genius and Noise

A few months back, I changed jobs.  My previous job was in a very noisy environment.  It did not need to be noisy, but I reported to a person that had the attention span of a retarded howler monkey.  He was always irritated at me for my desire for quiet.  I am a software developer (among other things), and software development is a creative activity that requires concentration.  I can keep my focus for many hours on end, provided I am not distracted by the sounds of other primates.  My concentration is so strong, I once drove from Los Angeles, California to Brownsville, Texas, alone, stopping on for fuel, food, and bathrooms - basically non-stop.

I was delighted to come across this article: Easily Distracted By Noise?  You Might Just Be A Creative Genius.  Laugh at my lack of humility, if you wish, but I am a creative genius.  However, what I loved so much about this claim is that it shows just how dull that howler monkey really is.

The Wealthy Have Less Empathy

The findings of this psychologist's research corroborate my own personal experience, both earlier in my life and recently.  As a child, I had a paper route.  Some areas of town that were on this route had wealthier people and other areas had poorer people.  I notice early on, and it remained true, that the wealthier tipped more poorly than the poor tipped.  The difference wasn't small, it was huge, on the order of several hundred percent.

More recently, I worked at an office where this phenomenon held glaringly true as well.  While the underpaid workers were mutually supportive and compassionate to one another, the upper scum of the company was exactly the opposite.  After I left, an employee of their parent company lost her apartment to a fire.  The wealthy upper scum of the child company attempted to recruit the poorer workers in an effort to donate to this employee of the parent company that lost all she had.  They did this because it would gain favor with the executive level of the parent company.  They pressured workers that had nothing to give into donating.  Meanwhile, the wealthiest of all, a man we nicknamed "The Suit", boldly donated coupons for discount travel, a product of the company, to the unfortunate employee of the parent company (at least that is what he said he did).  These donations cost him nothing.  Moreover, how could an impoverished person that just lost everything afford to travel, even with a discount?  It reminds me of a childhood joke, where students are asked by their teacher to write a story about a poor family.  A rich girl in the class wrote: "They were so poor that the maid was poor, the butler was poor, and the chauffeur was poor."

Clearly, The Suit has no empathy.  We all know what the psychological term for this is.
